Everton signed Richarlison from Watford last summer in a deal which could eventually rise to £50m, which is hardly small change.

The Brazil international made a very strong start to the 2018-19 season – netting three times in his first two Premier League appearances.

The striker has 10 Premier League goals to his name this term – an impressive record – but his form has certainly been disappointing in recent weeks.

Indeed, the 5 ft 10 ace has now not scored for Everton since the end of January after drawing another blank in his team’s 3-0 win over Cardiff City in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

Richarlison was replaced by Bernard just past the hour in Wales and despite the fact that it was a very welcome three points for the Toffees, the performance of the 21-year-old was widely criticised by the Everton fans.
