Series three of the award-winning Apple TV+ show came to a close in May 2023. There was little talk of popular characters being brought back to the small screen at that point, with Lasso returning to his native United States from an eventful coaching stint in England.

News of Warner Bros taking up options on three leading characters got the rumour mill turning again, with – which is maintained by the Film & Television Industry Alliance (FTIA) – now including “Ted Lasso (Series 4)” on a rundown of shows that are either in production or development.

A “shoot date” of January 6, 2025 is included on the listing, which would tie in with reports suggesting that pre-production could begin in the new year. It is also claimed that filming will take place in London and unspecified locations in America.

WHAT NEXT FOR TED LASSO?
No cast members have been added alongside the supposed crew – which includes writer and title character Jason Sudeikis. Neither Apple nor the show’s production company have confirmed that season four is in the works, but a global audience can start to truly “believe” that the likes of Lasso, Roy Kent, Rebecca Welton, Keeley Jones, Coach Beard and Nathan Shelley are on their way back.
